We were delighted to work in partnership with COBA Flooring on a project to replace entrance matting and flooring for Rotherham Council at their offices in Riverside House in the town.

“It goes without saying that any entrance area to a busy building will have to cope with heavy footfall on a daily basis,” explains Damian Bradley, director at A Cumberlidge. “As such, it is essential to specify heavy duty, hard-working products that will continue to deliver for a prolonged period of time and, when it comes to entrance matting, we usually turn to the experts at COBA Flooring.”

Continues Damian: “Following a consultation with the client, we selected COBA’s Plan.a Low Profile, Closed Surface Construction matting for the exterior of the entrance which includes a large glass revolving door.

“For the interior we chose COBA’s Alba ECONYL® in Anthracite carpet entrance matting which is ideal for high volume entrance areas and walkways. This product is much more sustainable that similar products as it is made from reclaimed fishing nets and other plastic waste.”

After uplifting the existing flooring and preparing the substrate, the team laid each product in the respective sections of the entrance.

The finished result saw half of the revolving door floor area featuring Plan.a Low Profile and the other half covered with Alba Anthracite.

In total 20m2 of Plan.a Low Profile was laid alongside of 50m2 of Alba Anthracite.

Concludes Damian: “Rotherham Council’s Riverside House offices now have a striking entrance that is totally fit for purpose and ready to welcome visitors and staff for many years to come.”
