At the beginning of July, we supplied and installed a variety of floor and wall coverings in a new build banqueting suite at a historic hotel in Sheffield.
Built in 1772, Aston Hall Hotel features 52 bedrooms and suites, conference & function rooms and restaurant as well as the newly built, £1.2 million ‘Virage’ banqueting suite.
The first stage of the project saw the A Cumberlidge team fix PALCLAD hygienic wall cladding across the walls of the suite’s new kitchen and store room walls.
Moving to the flooring element, Tremco ES1000 Epoxy Surface DPM was applied to the sheet vinyl areas along with Tremco SX300 smoothing compound to create a faultless finish.
75m2of Polysafe Apex sheet vinyl was fitted in the kitchen, kitchen store, beer cellar and the walkway behind the bar. The large dance floor was then covered with 60m2of Polyflor Forest FX sheet vinyl and 81m2of Polyflor Wood FX sheet vinyl laid in the toilets and foyer areas of the new banqueting suite.
The final part of the assignment was to install 164m2of an 8 row Axminster carpet from the Gaskell MacKay Infinity range. This included the fitting of a crumb rubber underlay to create a double-stick system for enhanced durability, resilience and comfort.
Commenting on the project, Chris Kirby, site manager for main contractors T&C Williams Ltd, said: “Up against a tight deadline, the Cumberlidge team were spot on in every aspect, delivering the unrivalled standard of finish we have come to expect from them over the years.”
