For the second year running, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve snapped up a Bronze award for our recycling during 2018 in the prestigious Recofloor Awards!

2019 marks the 10thanniversary of the Recofloor scheme with the organisation celebrating a decade of collecting and diverting over 4,000 tonnes of vinyl flooring away from landfill in the last decade.

“We’ve been a Recofloor recycling partner since the organisation launched ten years ago,” explains Tim Vaughan, our finance director.

“Each and every business that is active within the UK flooring industry has their own individual role to play in ensuring that we recycle as much of our post-installation vinyl flooring, off-cuts and uplifts as possible. If we all do our bit, however small, we will continue to make a big difference and help protect the environment together.”

Continues Tim: “All client projects we work on that involve vinyl flooring are subject to our strict recycling policy. We are focused on collecting every scrap of waste vinyl, uplifted vinyl and off-cuts in the special bulk bags provided by Recofloor.

“Once these bags are full, Recofloor will pick them up and give the waste inside a ‘new lease of life’ either as new Altro or Polyflor flooring products or by creating traffic management products, including traffic cones and sign bases. Landfill is NEVER an option!”

Concludes Tim: “We view equally all waste from our works, whether plastic packaging or cardboard. In 2018 we estimate that we recycled approaching six tonnes of cardboard (packaging) and we will continue to look for new and innovative ways to help wherever possible.”

The Recofloor Awards 2019 event will take place on Friday 26thApril at the historic Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield.
