We were delighted to welcome Sir Kevin Barron, MP for the Rother Valley, to our offices on Friday 14th June for the latest in our series of open meetings with local and regional politicians.

“We had another excellent, highly constructive discussion covering a wide variety of pertinent topics,” comments Tim Vaughan, director at A Cumberlidge.

“It was great to hear that Kevin supports our own wishes to further develop transports links in the region. He is as keen as we are to maximise the opportunities and infrastructure afforded to businesses (and individuals) by Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the surrounding commercial developments.

“We also talked about the pros and cons associated with HS2, the NHS, Brexit and our specific work in regional health and education sectors. Kevin was also pleased to hear how we focus on encouraging young talent in the local area with our long-term policy of recruiting apprentices from Dinnington College.”

“Having the chance to talk openly and candidly with those who represent us in Westminster is one we welcome with open arms. It’s so interesting to understand what happens in Government and what we can do to influence the agenda with a view to promoting British business and helping the economy to grow and the country to excel.”

Concludes Tim: “We’d like to thank Kevin once again for giving us his time on a busy Friday afternoon. Constructive discussions with local politicians should be more commonplace and I would urge local businesses to extend invitations to Kevin and his Westminster colleagues and take a more active role in politics. We will be continuing our series of open meetings – watch this space for more details!”
