As we continue to further enhance our commitment to protecting the environment, we’re delighted to announce that we have been rewarded with a Silver award for our recycling in the prestigious Recofloor Awards 2020!
After winning two Bronze awards for our efforts in 2018 and 2019, we’re very proud to have made an even greater contribution to supporting Recofloor’s objective of diverting thousands of tonnes of vinyl flooring away from landfill.
“I’m happy to say that we have been a Recofloor recycling partner since its inception 11 years ago,” explains Tim Vaughan, our finance director.
“Each and every business that is active within the UK flooring industry has their own individual role to play in ensuring that we recycle as much of our post-installation vinyl flooring, off-cuts and uplifts as possible. If we all do our bit, however small, we will continue to make a big difference and help protect the environment together.”
Continues Tim: “Any project that we undertake that utilises vinyl flooring is subject to our strict recycling policy. We collect every scrap of waste vinyl, uplifted vinyl and off-cuts in the special bulk bags provided by Recofloor and, once collected, that waste is given a brand new life. Some appears as new Altro or Polyflor flooring products, and some is used to make traffic management products. One thing is for sure: landfill is never, ever an option!”
Concludes Tim: “And it’s not just flooring that we recycle. Each and every day we recycle any plastic packaging and cardboard we have on site or at our warehouse; it’s our ongoing responsibility to each other and to the environment.”
