We are proud to have been involved in the delivery of the new Patients’ Booking Hub at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
The Patients’ Booking Hub is a centralised facility to arrange outpatient referrals and appointment bookings and will provide an easy and positive experience for patients who need an appointment at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust.
Working alongside JTP Architects, main contractor O&P Construction and site manager Andy Walch, the A Cumberlidge team was responsible for preparing and installing the flooring in the 120-desk contact centre.
“From day one, this was a very interesting project for us,” explains Damian Bradley, project manager for A Cumberlidge. “The flooring specification comprised a complex pattern design using four different coloured carpet tiles, a little bit like putting a jigsaw puzzle together!”
“After the O&P Construction crew had uplifted the existing flooring, we prepared the subfloor of the building using Tremco Latex SK300 NA throughout. Then, consulting the architect’s detailed drawings, we set to work laying 590m2 of Forbo Tessera layout and online carpet tiles in four various colours: Alloy, Plasmatron, Mono and Apple.
“We also fitted 95 m2 of Altro Suprema sheet vinyl in Alaska in all the toilets as well as 40 m2 of Polysafe Wood FX in Sun Bleached Oak in the staff room. Finally, in the entrance to the Hub we laid 2m m2 of Gradus Esplanade 1000 as primary matting and 2m m2 of Gradus Boulevard 6000 as secondary matting.”
Concludes Damian: “The final effect of the carpet tile pattern highlights the walkways and desk areas within the Hub and has created a really striking finish to complement the very high quality of work delivered by Andy and his team.”
